Dear Sleep...I miss you

I am so very tired these days. We have just been so busy and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I'm also a bit of a night owl and it seems that Cadence is following my lead. She is a great sleeper but she stays up quite late. On the upside, she usually sleeps in in the morning. However, I rarely get to sleep in anymore. I find it quite difficult to get going on the mornings that Cameron has school but I do manage. With being so busy lately, we've had a few nights where we were out late but there were also a few nights that I just stayed up too late. It seems that the nights I'm up late are the nights that Cadence gets up in the middle of the night. However, when I manage to get to bed at a decent time, she then sleeps in! I guess that's just the way it goes. I really can't complain though because she is a very good sleeper. I think we might just be getting to the stage where she is ready to start eating solids and not just formula. I can't believe that she'll be 6 months old in a week...time sure does fly. Well, it's taken me 3 attempts to get this written so I'm going to end it here. Once again, it is getting late and I think I just need to relax a little before it's time to get Cadence ready for bed...Cameron's already in bed for the night. We have another busy day ahead of us tomorrow :)

'Tis the Season

I must admit, it seemed to take me a little time to get into the groove of all things Christmas this year. I'm not really sure why though. Although, I did put the Christmas tree up on November 29th and completed the rest of the decorating the following week. Our Christmas shopping was also complete pretty early this year as well. I think we have just had so much going on this year and with an extra little person to care for, I seem to be a little more busy these days.

All that being said, I'm definitely in the Christmas spirit now. I have been listening to Christmas music all week long every chance that I get...including right now :) I finally did most of my Christmas baking early last week which included 2 pans of Skor fudge, 12 dozen ginger cookies, and 6 dozen peanut butter balls. The majority of my baking was then packed up and given to our friends. I started this little goodies gift giving tradition a few years ago. I still have to make another batch of peanut butter balls...they're our favorite so we like to have lots all for ourselves! I'm hoping to get them made tomorrow, if all goes as planned. Cory has also requested almond bark but I'm not sure that I'll get to that this year.

I finally wrapped all the Christmas gifts yesterday. I had been putting it off because it is such a big job and I like to be able to do it all at once, if at all possible. I got all of the gifts for everyone except Cameron wrapped before Cameron went to bed and then I had to wrap all of his gifts. It is a job I'm very happy to have completed, although it didn't take me nearly as long as it has other years. I think it helped that we had a budget that we managed to stick to this year so we didn't go overboard. Well, at least I don't think we went too crazy but I may think differently come Christmas morning when it looks like a bomb went off in our living room.

As I mentioned, we've been a little busy. Last week we went to Cameron's Christmas concert at school...it was so cute! He did great but he was a little bit nervous. He got all dressed up in his new suit (minus a suit jacket) that we got him...he just loves getting dressed up. We had two Christmas parties to attend this past weekend, one Friday and the other Saturday. Both nights we said we weren't staying out late...LOL! The first night we got home at 12:15am and the second night we got home at 1:45am, so we were extremely tired but we're starting to get caught up on our sleep.

So, that's what we've been up to these days...busy, busy, busy. I'm sure that is the trend in most households this time of year though.

Sticky Keyboard

Cameron loves to play games and watch shows on the computer. Whether it be PBS Kids, Teletoon, or Netflix, he just loves using the computer. We obviously monitor his computer time and make sure he doesn't spend the entire day on the computer. Not only is this a great source of entertainment for Cameron but he learns so much too. One day he explained everything that he had learned about the solar system to me...I'm pretty sure he now knows more than I do about that one. Another day he told me about how a tadpole turns into a frog. I was also quite impressed when he explained the difference between herbivores and carnivores to me. So, overall it's great that our five year old is learning so much from the computer. However, he always leaves something behind...fingerprints on the screen, crumbs around the laptop from his snack, and often a sticky keyboard. As of now, my M and N are a little sticky and I'm not sure what he did to them. I also had to scrape something off of the A and S before I typing this...LOL! All I can do is laugh though :)

How to Poop at Work...I'm sorry but I think this is funny :)

As much as we try to convince ourselves otherwise, the WORK POOP is inevitable. For those who hate pooping at work, following is the survival guide for taking a dump at the office.
CROP DUSTING: When farting, you walk really fast around the office so the smell is not in your area and everyone else gets a whiff but doesn't know where it came from. Be careful when you do this. Do not stop until the full fart has been expelled. Walk an extra 30 feet to make sure the smell has left your pants.
FLY BY: The act of scouting out a bathroom before pooping. Walk in and check for other poopers. If there are others in the bathroom, leave and come back again. Be careful not to become a FREQUENT FLYER. People may become suspicious if they catch you constantly going into the bathroom.
ESCAPEE: A fart that slips out while taking a leak at the urinal or forcing a poop in a stall. This is usually accompanied by a sudden wave of embarrassment. If you release an escapee, do not acknowledge it. Pretend it did not happen. If you are standing next to the farter in the urinal, pretend you did not hear it. No one likes an escapee. It is uncomfortable for all involved. Making a joke or laughing makes both parties feel uneasy.
JAILBREAK: When forcing a poop, several farts slip out at a machine gun pace. This is usually a side effect of diarrhea or a hangover. If this should happen, do not panic. Remain in the stall until everyone has left the bathroom to spare everyone the awkwardness of what just occurred.
COURTESY FLUSH: The act of flushing the toilet the instant the poop hits the water. This reduces the amount of airtime the poop has to stink up the bathroom. This can help you avoid being caught doing the WALK OF SHAME.
WALK OF SHAME: Walking from the stall, to the sink, to the door after you have just stunk up the bathroom. This can be a very uncomfortable moment if someone walks in and busts you. As with farts, it is best to pretend that the smell does not exist. Can be minimized with the use of the COURTESY FLUSH.
OUT OF THE CLOSET POOPER: A colleague who poops at work and is damn proud of it. You will often see an Out Of The Closet Pooper enter the bathroom with a newspaper or magazine under their arm. Always look around the office for the Out Of The Closet Pooper before entering the bathroom.
SAFE HAVENS: A seldom-used bathroom somewhere in the building where you can least expect visitors. Try floors that are predominantly of the opposite sex. This will reduce the odds of a same-sex pooper entering your bathroom.
TURD BURGLAR: Someone who does not realize that you are in the stall and tries to force the door open. This is one of the most shocking and vulnerable moments that can occur when taking a poop at work. If this occurs, remain in the stall until the Turd Burglar leaves. This way you will avoid all uncomfortable eye contact.
CAMO-COUGH: A phony cough that alerts all new entrants into the bathroom that you are in a stall. This can be used to cover-up a WATERMELON, or to alert potential Turd Burglars. Very effective when used in conjunction with an ASTAIRE.
ASTAIRE: A subtle toe-tap that is used to alert potential Turd Burglars that you are occupying a stall. This will remove all doubt that the stall is occupied. If you hear an Astaire, leave the bathroom immediately so the pooper can poop in peace.
WATERMELON: A poop that creates a loud splash when hitting the toilet water. This is also an embarrassing incident. If you feel a Watermelon coming on, create a diversion. See CAMO-COUGH.
HAVANA OMELET: A case of diarrhea that creates a series of loud splashes in the toilet water. Often accompanied by an Escapee. Try using a Camo-Cough with an Astaire.
UNCLE TED: A bathroom user who seems to linger around forever. Could spend extended lengths of time in front of the mirror or sitting on the pot. An Uncle Ted makes it difficult to relax while on the crapper, as you should always wait to poop when the bathroom is empty. This benefits you as well as the other bathroom attendees.

Little Ears Hear EVERYTHING

I would like to think that I do a pretty good job of refraining from saying bad language when Cameron is around. Well, I actually try not to say or talk about anything that I don't want him to hear because he hears EVERYTHING. I am constantly telling Cory to be careful of what he says because Cameron is always listening. I'm pretty sure Cory always thought I was crazy but he is starting to realize that I just might know what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter if we are in separate rooms, Cameron often comments on what he is hearing from the other room. He does this frequently when I'm talking on the phone and telling a story to one of the grandparents about him. Apparently, I don't always get the story just right so of course he must correct me and that is fine.

Now, like I said before, I think I do a pretty good job of controlling myself from saying any bad words but I must admit that they do slip out from time to time. Cory has a little more difficulty but he is definitely much, much better than he used to be. This leads me to a story from the other morning before I took Cameron to school. Cory had to leave a little early for work so he was already gone, Cameron was ready for school and I was just getting Cadence ready to go. I was in Cadence's room and Cameron was standing in the doorway and all of a sudden I hear him say, "Shit." I wasn't sure if I heard him correctly so I of course asked him what he said. He replied with, "I said shit." I asked, "Why did you say that?" He shrugs his shoulders and says, "I don't know." I'm pretty sure he just said it to see what type of reaction that he would get from me. All I said in return was, "Well, that's not a nice word so please don't say it again or I will have to wash your mouth out with soap." In true Cameron/kid fashion he responds with, "OK, I promise I won't say shit again." I try not to laugh and tell him, "Cameron, you just said it again, please don't." And of course I get the same response again, "Sorry Mommy, I won't say shit again." At this point, I just shake my head and tell him to get his coat and boots on so that I can take him to school.

So, of course at suppertime, I figured I would tell Cory that Cameron had said a bad word that morning before school. Cameron was sitting at the kitchen table with us and he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sorry." I reminded him that if he says bad words that I'd wash his mouth out with soap. Part of me was doing this so that Cameron would know that Cory and I are on the same page about all of this and the other part of me was wondering what he might say. When I got up from the table of course Cory had to ask Cameron what he had said that morning. I warned Cameron he better not say it again but he just stared at me and turned to his father and said, "I said shit." As much as we don't want our son talking this way, it still took everything in us not to laugh. Anyway, we haven't heard anymore bad words come out of Cameron's mouth since then but I'm sure it will happen again. You know, maybe he didn't hear this at home after all, maybe it was at school! You just never know what other kids are saying on the playground ;)

"I'm not ridiculous, I'm just a kid!"

Although, our darling son is 5 years old, he still has frequent temper tantrums. Now, the tantrums are not nearly as bad as they once were but I personally think it's time for them to happen a lot less often! LOL! I know, I know...wishful thinking.

I think the issue with Cameron is that he's just a little too hard on himself. He gets so upset when things don't go right on the first or second attempt...this includes anything from practicing his printing to playing a game. He is getting better with time and I think it may just be a maturity thing so I'm hopeful that these little fits will slowly disappear. I'm okay with one every now and then but not about silly things. Each time Cameron has a tantrum we take the time to explain that it's not appropriate behaviour and that he needs to walk away and take a break instead of getting so upset.

So, tonight he was playing a game on the computer and got soooo mad when he couldn't get passed a certain level. Cory and I were both sitting at the table with him and tried to calm him down and explain that this wasn't something to get so upset over. Cameron then proceeded to "cry" and force a couple of tears out. It was actually quite funny. I suggested that if he could squeeze out a few more tears, that we could collect them in a jar. This was a trick my aunt used on me when I was little and I usually stopped my little tantrum and wiped up my tears pretty quickly. I also told Cameron he was being ridiculous and he responded with, "I'm not ridiculous, I'm just a kid!" It was hilarious...so we laughed...Cameron ran from the table...and we laughed some more! We're horrible parents, I know!

After he calmed down, we suggested he go have a shower to help him relax. I can now hear him in the shower and he's happy as can be! What a boy!

Uggs

So...I am in need of a new pair of boots to keep my tender tootsies warm. I have been wanting a pair of Uggs for a while now and I'm pretty close to convincing myself that I should get them very, very soon. I have asked my friends who have these comfy boots how they like them and the general consensus is that everyone LOVES these boots! Now, normally I wouldn't be considering getting these boots but they will actually be a Christmas gift from my wonderful parents. I can't wait to go shopping for my new boots. I just have to decide which ones I like the best.

Radar

So, we have a temporary addition to our family these days...Radar. Radar is a 10 year old German Shepherd and he is a retired police dog. Basically, the Radar's owner is sick and Radar needs a temporary home. Cory is interested in the police dog section for work so this is a bit of test to see how he does with a retired dog. Obviously, there is a big difference between a retired police dog and a working police dog but it is still a good experience for all of us. We all love dogs and Radar is a very good dog so he's fitting in wonderfully.

Radar absolutely loves Cory! He sits at the door and cries when Cory goes anywhere without him. Once he finally realizes that Cory isn't coming right back he ends up spending most of the day asleep on his bed in our bedroom until Cory gets home from work. I think part of the dog's plan is to rest up all day so that he can play all evening! For a 10 year old dog, Radar is full of energy and super playful. He would play with his ball ALL DAY LONG, if someone would play with him.

My only complaints about the dog is that he sheds so I am forced to vacuum every single day and he snores at nighttime! Otherwise, he is great and I actually like having him around. Although, this is a bit of a trial for Cory in regard to the police dog section, having Radar around is completely different from what it will be like with a working dog. Radar is just like any other pet, perhaps trained much better than most but a pet just the same. A working dog will not be like a pet at all. Cory could get his first puppy to train as early as next spring and that would be the first of probably 3 or 4 puppies. When the time comes, that puppy will not be like a part of the our family and I think that will take some getting used to. On the upside, Cory is responsible for everything for these dogs...taking them for walks, playing, letting them outside, baths, etc...it's great!

Cadence Avery

Another reason I haven't been around too much lately is that our baby girl arrive on June 28, 2011. Cadence Avery was 7 lbs 10 3/4 oz and she was/is absolutely perfect! I figure she at least deserves her very own blog post ;) She is such a good baby and we are blessed to have her in our family. Although, I have to admit, there have been days that I've asked myself, "What were were thinking?" Cameron turned 5 on June 25th and Cadence was born 3 days later. Having your children 5 years apart does have it's challenges but it also has it's benefits. Cameron is such a great help. Cadence simply adores Cameron and he can keep her amused so that I can get things done.

One of the hardest parts of having a new baby in the house in the early weeks was the lack of sleep! Thankfully, by the time Cadence was 7 weeks old she was sleeping through the night...most nights. She is an excellent sleeper now but we do have the odd middle of the night feeding every couple of weeks. I try not to complain though because I know just how lucky we are. However, a napper she is not...well, she likes catnaps. For the most part she has 3 or 4 short (30 min) naps throughout the day but lately she's been starting to have one longer nap during the day. She also likes to stay up late (11pm-midnight) and then sleep in (9am-10am). I really need to try to change her routine but it's proving to be difficult.

All in all, she is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. Our family is now complete...no more babies for us ;)

I'm Back!!!!!

Yes, I'm still here. I can't believe that seven months have passed since I last blogged. Where does the time go? Oh yes, that's right...life sometimes takes over and gives me little time to sit down and gather my thoughts, let alone blog about what's been going on. I know I've said this before but I am going to try to blog on a much more regular basis. Seriously, I'm actually going to make the time...even if that means that the laundry and dishes have to wait! I spend so much time every day making sure that everyone is looked after and that the house is clean and tidy that I often forget to make time for myself. I mean, I do take the time to shower and get dressed every morning but I'm usually forced to do it at lightning speed because someone needs me to do something. Wow, I hope that doesn't sound like I'm complaining (too much) because I love my husband and children but I also know I need to take a little time for myself each day.

So, here I am typing like a wild woman while Cory is at work, Cadence is passed out on the living room floor, and Cameron is still at school...although, I have to leave to go pick Cameron up in 10 minutes. The time just flies by every single day! Despite the fact that I got my morning wake-up call from my beautiful little darling, Cadence, at 5:20am, I still don't feel that I'm accomplished too much today. By the time I got Cadence back to sleep this morning, it was time to get showered and start my day. Cory had to be reminded that he had to actually get out of bed to start his day and Cameron had to be woken up to get ready for school. Before I knew it, it was 9am and it was just me and my baby girl at home...oh and Radar. I'll explain Radar in my next post. I ran a couple of errands midday and then came home and tried to make lunch for myself but it took until almost 2pm because Cadence couldn't decide whether she was content to play, sleep or eat so I kept getting interrupted.

And now it's time to bundle up the baby and go get Cameron at school. It seems like such a chore now that winter has arrived. It was so much easier on those warm, sunny days in September but now it's like a big project to get the baby ready just to drive the two blocks to the school to pick up Cameron...thank goodness he only has kindergarten every second day!

Okay, Cadence is now awake and crying and I have to get her bundled up and go pick up the boy at school. I promise, I'll be back again...soon :)

Road Trip

This past weekend our little family went on a little road trip to Saskatoon! With the arrival of our baby girl quickly approaching (only 10 or so weeks to go), we needed to take a trip into the city to do a little shopping for things that we just couldn't find closer to home. We had originally planned to do a day trip but after putting quite a bit of thought into it, I decided it would be best to spend the night instead of trying to cram so much into one day. You see, it is a 3+ hour drive each way between Sturgis and Saskatoon. On top of the driving time, we had quite a few stops that we wanted to make while in Saskatoon. I knew that it was just going to be too much to do in one day for my pregnant body and it would just be too rushed. So, at the last minute I decided we should leave for Saskatoon Friday morning and spend the night. That way we could get some of our shopping done on Friday afternoon and finish up on Saturday. We had to be home Saturday night though because the Easter Bunny was coming!!

So, we ventured off on our little journey on Friday morning and luckily the weather was beautiful and the traveling was great. For those of you who are unaware, there is a lot of flooding within SK but fortunately we didn't encounter any detours or delays on the drive to or from Saskatoon. Friday afternoon, we went to Canadian Tire, Old Navy and Walmart before calling it a day. We then had an early supper at Red Lobster and the food was awesome! We then went to get checked in at the hotel, which was the Delta Bessborough and it was our first stay at this hotel. We were a little disappointed to find out that the pool was closing early due to it being Good Friday but we just planned to go swimming in the morning instead.

Saturday morning started way too early when Cameron woke up at 6:30am and refused to go back to sleep. We were at the pool shortly after 8am and spent an hour splashing and playing with Cameron. I even squeezed myself into my bathing suit and went swimming. Actually, my bathing suit fit pretty good with the exception of half of my baby belly hanging out! After we all had our showers and got our stuff packed up we had a lovely buffet breakfast at the hotel before we started our shopping adventure for the day. We spent a few hours at the mall and then a good hour at Toys R Us. I think the highlight was our visit to Build-A-Bear where Cameron made himself a camouflage bear and a lamb for the baby. We then went to Costco where we loaded up on groceries...I love Costco! I had requested that we go to East Side Marios for supper and even though it's not one of Cory's favorite places to eat :) We finally got home at 11pm Saturday night after a very long but productive couple of days.

So, I think we have pretty much everything that we need for the new baby. I just need to pick up a few little things now. I also finally decided on a crib and dresser and ordered them online. They should arrive in a week but we still don't have the office moved to the basement so that we can set up the baby's room...it'll get done though :) And that's the story of our little road trip.

Shopping with Cameron

I couldn't tell you that last time that we went shopping without Cameron. Due to our geographical location, I can't just go out for an hour to do a little shopping because it takes an hour just to get to Walmart! So, every week or so we venture into Yorkton (usually as a family but sometimes just me and Cameron) to do our shopping. Walmart is Cameron's favorite store so it's usually a must that we stop in and we rarely leave without buying something.

Lately, we've been starting to pick up things for the new baby that will be arriving in a few months. We've decided that it's important to allow Cameron to be a part of picking out things for the baby. He usually only wants to pick out baby toys but that is okay because she will need some toys. However, this week on our trip into Yorkton Cameron surprised us with what he picked out for the baby. As we were perusing through the baby section at Walmart, Cameron spots a little Tinker Bell bathing suit. He stands and checks it out for a moment and then picks up the smallest one on the rack and puts it in the cart. I asked him what he was doing and he replied, "Well, the little girl is going to need a bathing suit for when we go swimming at a hotel." I wasn't so sure that we needed to make such a purchase just yet so I put the cute little bathing suit back on the rack. Cameron looked at me like I was crazy and immediately put it back in the cart. Again, I put it back on the rack and again, Cameron put it back in the cart. Of course, by now Cameron thinks this is a pretty funny game. I then asked if the bathing suit was what he wanted to get for his baby sister and he said yes. So, we bought the Tinker Bell bathing suit and I'm sure our little girl will be super cute in it!

Cameron is "handsome"!

Cameron is always saying funny things but unfortunately, I usually can't even remember half of them. One thing that has struck me funny lately is the fact that he no longer appreciates being called "cute". I used to tell him all the time that he was "cute". However, that has come to an end at his request and if I mistakenly call him cute, he corrects me very quickly. For those of you who don't know, according to Cameron only babies are "cute"! He is not a baby and therefore does not want to be told he is cute anymore. I have been informed that it is acceptable to call little boys "handsome".

I suppose this is just one of the many quirky things my son will tell me as he continues to grow. I can't believe that he will be 5 years only in just a few short months. Where has the time gone? He definitely is turning into a handsome little man though and he entertains us daily with the silly things that he says and does :)

Dear Spring...Where are you??

I've always said that I was meant to live in a warmer climate and I will continue to stick with this theory. It's not that I dislike everything about the winter months but I really don't think that it is necessary for winter to last so long. I think one month of snow and colder weather would be sufficient. And when I say colder, I mean nothing colder than about -10 degrees Celsius!

I spent the first 30 years of my life dealing with the damp, cold winters in PEI and I've spent the past 3 years dealing with the insane cold in SK. I still have yet to determine which is worse. I don't miss the abundance of crazy snow that PEI gets but I'm also not a fan of the incredible cold windchill in SK. Also, PEI winters don't seem to last as long. In PEI, there is generally autumn weather to get you used to the idea the winter is on it's way but that doesn't seem to be the case in SK. The weather in SK seems to pretty much go directly from summer to winter. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration...SK does get 1-2 weeks of autumn weather before the snow and cold hits!

So, we've endured approximately 5 months of snow and extremely cold temperatures here in SK this winter and I am more than ready for it to be over. Spring can arrive any day now. We were teased earlier this week by warmer temperatures and melting snow only to wake up one morning with more freshly fallen snow. I will say that the temperatures have been more tolerable over the past week ago and I pray that we don't fall back into a deep freeze anytime soon.

I am confident that the spring weather will eventually arrive...even though the calendar says that today is the first official day of spring. It definitely didn't appear or feel like a spring day in SK today. It was snowing and the roads were terrible for travel. Luckily, I didn't have to leave the house but I am also getting tired of being stuck in the house. So, I will continue to hope for sunshine and warmer temperature and I look forward to watching the snow melt.

Cravings

Cravings are a big part of my life these days. Obviously, we all have cravings at times but they seem to be even more abundant during pregnancy. I'm happy to report that the majority of my cravings are for healthy foods but I do still crave junk food at times too.

Throughout my pregnancy my main cravings have been for fruit...oranges, pears, apples, grapes, strawberries, etc. I also can't get enough orange juice! It's definitely been a positive change to my normal eating habits. Although, I do still crave and enjoy chips and other tasty treats on occasion. Lately, I've also begun to crave baked goods...uh-oh! Luckily, I don't indulge in this too often or I would be growing out of my clothes at a much more rapid pace. I have to admit though that I have found a love for such things at chocolate chip Eggo waffles and Pillsbury toaster strudel...so yummy for a treat.

So, I think it's safe to say that I have a developed a bit of a sweet tooth during this pregnancy. The old myth says that it is common to crave sweet foods if you are having a girl and I guess this myth has proven to be true to me!

Hmmmm...Where have I been???

So, it seems that I have disappeared from the blogging world for a bit. Oops! It certainly wasn't my intention to ignore my blog and I'd love to say that I've just been too busy but in all honesty, I really have no excuses. I have thought of blogging many days and then I seem to get distracted...usually by the couch that is calling my name! I will try to do a little recap of what's been happening since my last post but I can't promise it will be too exciting because my memory is not the greatest these days and I do have an excuse for that one...baby brain!

Something tells me that January wasn't an overly exciting month. It was definitely very cold, that is impossible to forget. Cory was busy with work,. Cameron started going to pre-school twice a week instead of just once, and I went through a bit of a growth spurt! Yes, the baby belly finally popped out and it was no secret that I had a bun in the oven. I think we also had a day trip to Regina sometime in January to do a little shopping.

February was much like January...COLD! Cory's detachment hosted their 3rd annual RCMP Regimental Ball in February so we got all dressed up and had a night out with just adults. Again, this month wasn't too exciting either. I'm sure there are lots of funny stories that I could share with you but I just can't remember them now. I really should try to write things down for when I do have time or well, remember to blog. Oh, and my belly has continued to increase in size :)

So, here we are in the middle of March already. I do seem to be able to remember a little more about this month...most likely because it's only half over! We had a day trip to Saskatoon at the first of the month to do a little shopping and just to get out of Sturgis for a day. Last week was an eventful week for us. I went for my second ultrasound at 23 weeks and we found out that we are having a baby GIRL! We were surprised and very excited with this news. We also went to a wedding in Regina this past weekend. One of Cory's co-workers got married and we spend the whole weekend in Regina. I was very excited to finally know the gender of our baby so I did some shopping for baby stuff while we were away. I have to admit, I found it a bit overwhelming in the girl's section of the store at first. There is just so much more to choose from than there is for boys.

I do have a story from when I was shopping in Regina. As I have mentioned, I am gradually increasing in size but that is what is supposed to happen when you are pregnant. I should also mention that I have not gained an excessive amount of weight and I'm not even close to being as big as I was during my first pregnancy at this stage. Anyway, I was shopping at The Bay and was making my purchase at the cash. While I was paying, the cashier was chatting away to me of course. I was buying a pink blanket with satin trim so she says to me, "Oh, you're having a little girl!?" Which I obviously respond with, "Yes." She's then looking me over and asks when I'm due. When I tell her that I am due the first week of July, she then says, "Are you sure you're not having twins?!?!" Seriously!!! Why do people say things like that?? I politely said, "No!" This woman was not the first to comment on my size and I've been nice up until now. However, I can't promise that I will continue to be polite with the inappropriate comments about my size as my pregnancy progresses :) It was kind of funny though.

That pretty much sums up what's been going on. We're really not too exciting but Cameron is pretty entertaining with the things he says and does so I am truly going to try to keep note of these things so that I can blog more often! I promise!
